60% of Voters’ Card Are Invalid in Bayelsa, Says INEC

The Head of Voters Education of the Independent Electoral Commission INEC in Bayelsa state, Mr Wilfred Ifuogha says 60% of voters’ card are in invalid in Bayelsa while only thirty three percent of voters’ card registered from the month of June 2021 to January 2022 are valid and have been received ahead of the forth coming elections.

Mr Ifuogha disclosed this while speaking to newsmen in Yenagoa the Bayelsa State capital saying the invalid sixty seven percent voters card registered was due to persons found wanting in the guidelines of the Permanent Voters Card registration processes noting that certain issues arising from the cards should be filed as a complaint for the commission to resolve rather than registering again for another voters card.

“We tell people that if you have had anything to do with INEC registration from 2010 uptill this moment, you have been registered and your name is in our data base, if you are having issues, let us know, don’t just go ahead to do another registration ”

He cautioned voters who deliberately give wrong data to the commission to get numerous voters card to desist from such adding that the system has been integrated therefore it identifies multiple entries.

Mr Wilfred Ifuogha also stated that the entries from June last year till January 2022 are now available and would be distributed soon to various local government areas of the state.
