Bayelsa Govt. begins repair works at collapsed Imiringi bridge

Bayelsa Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, has commenced remedial works on the damaged section of the Otuasega-Imiringi bridge.

On his way back to Yenagoa from a function at Akipelai, on Saturday afternoon, Governor Douye Diri, made a stop to inspect the damaged section of the bridge.

The Governor directed the Works Ministry to expedite the repair works and complete the job in about one week.

Gov. Diri said though, the road is a federal road, Bayelsans are the one bearing the effect of the damage, hence the need for us to fix it.

The governor was accompanied by Speaker of the House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Abraham Ingobere, lawmaker representing Kolokuma/Opokuma Constituency 1, Hon. Tonye Isenah, the Commissioner for Special Duties (Bayelsa East), Preye Broderick and her Communication, Science and Technology counterpart, Dr. Promise Ekio as well as the Chief of Staff, Government House, Chief Benson Agadaga.
