Democracy in Nigeria: It is Difficult to Point to Progress, Says EU Election Observer
Report Jonan DaSaint – Barry Andrews, Chief Observer European Union, EU Election Observation Mission to Nigeria has said it is difficult to point to progress in terms of democracy in Nigeria.
Barry Andrews made the comment while speaking on a national television after the governorship and house of assembly elections held across the country.
He noted that security discouraged Nigerians from voting. Early opening of ballots, uploading results, the overall voter participation was very low.
Barry Andrews who is the chief Observer EU Election Observation Mission to Nigeria lamented that there is nothing to point to as progress in the democratic culture in Nigeria.
