Douye Diri Says Nigeria Needs Competent Managers of Country’s Resources
Bayelsa State governor, Senator Douye Diri says Nigeria is in need of competent managers of human and material resources to achieve sustainable national security and development.
The governor came out with this while presenting a keynote address at the SouthSouth Zonal Management Summit organized by the Nigerian Institute of Management, NIM in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa state capital.
He explained that apart from insurgency, kidnapping and other security challenges, the country is suffering from political, social, health and food insecurity.
According to him, the country is more divided because of unnecessary partisanship, tribalistic and unpatriotic management of both human and natural resources.
Governor Diri who described the management profession as unique and noble charged the managers to challenge the political class by running the organization more efficiently and effectively.
Also speaking, President of the Council, NIM observed that the current level of insecurity has caused collosal damage to the national economy.
She urged government to redouble its effort towards tackling the security challenges in the country.
