House of Reps Urge NDDC to Undertake Construction of Roads in Ogbia LGA

Nigeria House of Reps urge the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC to immediately undertake an emergency construction Oguayama/Okodi road in Ogbia local government area of Bayelsa state.

This decision became necessary due to a resolution on infrastructural motion moved by Hon Fred Obua, member representing Ogbia federal constituency in House of Representatives.

Mr Obua had moved the motion on the floor of the house saying the road which links eight communities of Ogbia local government area to the state capital would ease movement of persons, goods and services.

He noted that when the road is constructed, it would increase economic activities, boost productivity and bring development to the area and the people.

According to the lawmaker, the dilapidated state of the road has continued to serve as a den for hoodlums and criminal activities as these communities play host to oil and gas resources.

He therefore appealed to the House of Representatives to put pressure on the NDDC to include the road in it’s budget to undertake the road construction immediately.

The infrastructure motion was adopted by the Deputy Speaker of the house, Mr Ahmed Wase who presided over the proceedings yesterday, he directed the House Committee on NDDC and Appropriation to ensure compliance with the details of the adopted motion.
