IYC Scores Gov Diri Performance High As He Marks One Year in Office

…calls for federal government’s intervention in critical sectors that will boost the IGR of the state

The Ijaw Youth Council worldwide has congratulated the Miracle Governor of Bayelsa state, Senator Douye Diri on the occasion of his one year anniversary in office.

In a press statement that was signed and issued to newsmen by the national Spokesperson of the Ijaw Youth Council, Comrade Ebilade Ekerefe described the Governor as a detribalized leader whom since his emergence has been advocate of love, peace and political stability which are the fundamental ingredients upon which any meaningful development can thrive in the heartland of the Ijaw nation.

Comr. Ebilade Ekerefe stated that the governor has put Bayelsa state on the trajectory of development by awarding and mobilizing contractors back onsite for the continuation of the Sagbama Ekeremor road, Yenagoa-Oporoma road, Igbogene-AIT road, including the Gloryland drive road which will open up the state for investments at a time the state is gradually recovering from the global Covid-19 pandemic which ravaged the entire world last year including the perennial flooding and the plethora of court cases which could’ve distracted him if he wasn’t focus and visionary in his governance approach.

The image maker of the Ijaw Youth Apex body also commended the governor for the completion of the Imiringi community access bridge and the prompt payment of civil servants salaries/pension gratuities which has motivated the workforce to be more productive.

Comr. Ebilade Ekerefe stressed that governor Diri has shown commitment to development and therefore needs federal government intervention to addressing key infrastructure that can help the state government boost its IGR.

He therefore call on all Bayelsan’s across political divide to be patient with the prosperity government and bring ideas that will help the governor to move the state forward.

The Ijaw Youth Council expresses willingness to collaborate with the only homogeneous Ijaw state as strategic partners to maintain peace and security which will enable the government cruise on the current altitude without hindrance.

He therefore call on Ijaw youths in Bayelsa state to be law abiding and support the Sen. Douye Diri’s government which has them in their best interest, especially with the youth programs the government intends to initiate that will build their capacities and empower them to be self reliant.
