3 Quick Steps to Realise Your Expectations in Good Time
In this short piece, Victor Oroyi shares 3 quick steps to realise your expectations in good time and reduce stress.
Expectations are assumptions on how to achieve one’s goal, dreams, or how things should happen. It is never a bad idea to be expectant after making efforts.
Everybody has an expectation for one’s career, family, and business pursuit. Also, there are consequences when these set expectations are not met.
Never worry, you are not alone in this. Let’s show 3 steps to follow to achieve your expectations.
1. Set Realistic Expectations
Most times, our expectations are unrealistic and unachievable. We don’t take into consideration factors that will enable us to achieve. You can’t be in Abuja in July 2025 with a flight ticket costing 200k from Yenagoa when your salary is less than 30k.
2. Prioritize Your Expectations
When you have too many expectations in your basket, it becomes overwhelming for you to achieve. As an author, you want to publish 6 books in July 2025, but as at June, you have less than 100k.
Make a priority list, which book has the greatest value, and take a bit per time. Unrealised expectations often lead to frustrations.
3. Make an Action Plan
After proper analysis and getting a priority list, draw up an action plan. It serves as a guide on how to realise your expectations. This action plan should be flexible, time-bound, and adjustable when the need arises.
It appears simple; if practiced repeatedly and consistently, it will help you realise your expectations with minimal failure rate.
