Richard Mofe-Damijo is a popular and outstanding actor, writer, producer, lawyer and former journalist, we bring you 5 fun facts of this former Delta State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism in 2009.
#1 – Lifetime Achievement/Industry Awards
In 2016, RMD received a lifetime achievement award at 12th edition of Africa Movie Academy Award, AMAA while he he was honoured with the industry merit awards at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Award, AMVCA in 2024.
#2 – Movie Awards
RMD has won several awards including nomination for his role in movies. He won the 2005 Africa Movie Academy Awards for Best Actor in a leading Role. At the Exclusive Men of the Year Africa Awards, he won the Continental ICON in 2022.
#3 – Television Appearance
The Delta state born movie actor had notable appearance on the award winning, TV series Castle & Castle alongside Dakore Akande and Deyemi Okanlawon. He has appeared in other series, Ripples and Checkmates.
#4 – Personal Life
Richard Mofe-Damijo had five children from his wives. He remarried when he lost his first wife in 1996. He was born on 6 July 1961 from Aladja community of Udu Kingdom in Delta State.
#5 – Education and Career
He started his education pursuit in Warri before studying Theatre Arts at the University of Benin. RMD went to UNILAG in 1997 to study Law and graduated in 2004.
