
Bayelsa PDP Passes Vote of Confidence on Diri, Lawrence For Performance

Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri today attended the Bayelsa State People’s Democratic Party (PDP) State Executive Committee meeting held at the State party’s Secretariat, Yenagoa.
Governor Diri commended the leaders and stakeholders of the PDP in Bayelsa State for remaining resolute and united in pushing for the growth of the party.
Governor Diri said the PDP is the party to beat in Bayelsa State and urge those in the opposition to join the PDP to actualize their political aspirations.
“To set the records straight, there is no zonal congress held in the South-South zone. At the appropriate time, the national will decide the date in conjunction with the zonal leadership which includes the four PDP Governors in the zone.”
In Bayelsa as well as the South-South zone, there is no crisis. We are following what is right and the constitution of our party”, Gov. Diri stated.
Also, the leadership of the party has passed a vote of confidence on Governor Diri and his Deputy, Sen. Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, for their outstanding performance in the past five years in office as moved by Rt. Hon. Oforji Oboku and seconded by Rt. Hon. Monday Bubou Obolo.
Dignitaries at the meeting were the deputy governor of Bayelsa State, Sen. Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, former Deputy Governors, Rt. Hon. Werinipre Seibarugu, and Rear Admiral Gboribiogha John Jonah (Rtd), Senator Benson Agadaga, representing Bayelsa East Senatorial district, Hon. Mitema Obordor, representing Ogbia federal constituency, Hon. Oforji Oboku, representing Yenagoa, Kolokuma/Opokuma federal constituency, Rt. Hon. Monday-Bubou Obolo, Leader of Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Hon. Solomon Agwana, Chairman of PDP, Bayelsa State, Prof. Felix Omemu, Secretary of PDP South-South, House of Assembly members, Local Government Chairmen, and other senior party officials.
