So Abram departed as the Lord had spoken to him, and Lot went with him. And Abram was seventy-five years old when he departed from Haran. – Genesis 12:4
INSIGHT | Daily Bible Verse for Today Friday 16th August 2024 – Genesis 12:4
At the age of 75, God asked Abram to leave his father’s house to a place He will show him (Abram) in verse 1 of chapter 12. The verse for today, shows us how Abram promptly followed the instruction without asking questions, and knowing where.
Abraham, as he will be called later, is known as the ‘Father of Faith’. In the hall of faith, he has a prominent mention for the decision to move out of his comfort zone to an unknown place.
Hebrews 11:10 records that he looked for a city, where God had designed and built by himself. To see God work wonders in our lives, our bible verse for today shows us how through the life of Abraham is possible.
The decision to hear God’s word at all times, is a primary key, while prompt obedience and walking in faith are the enabling keys, that leads to a life of wonder. Therefore, child of God, to be counted worthy, follow the examples of Abraham to enter into a new season.
PRAYER FOR TODAY:
Lord, grant me the listening ear, an understanding heart and spirit of faith to promptly obey Your word.
