But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.
INSIGHT: Daily Bible Verse for Today Thursday 15th August 2024 – Genesis 6:8
The preceding verses to our bible verse for today talks about God’s reaction to the wickedness of mankind. Nevertheless, Noah, a man has these striking testimony in his generation not for possessing wealth but for his character.
Noah is a great grand son of Enoch. His father, Lamech gave him a prophetic name as found in Genesis 5:29, ‘
Our bible verse for today revealed the fulfillment of that prophecy but with a better understanding on the character of Noah in verse 9. It reads, ‘And he called his name Noah,[a] saying, “This one will comfort us concerning our work and the toil of our hands, because of the ground which the Lord has cursed.”
Despite, the wickedness around Noah in his generation, it is recorded that he is a just and perfect man. The verse today is an encouragement for all believers. Staying just and perfect is possible in this present generation.
Let’s emulate the character of Noah and stand out in any environment and condition we find ourselves to the glory of God. Not just in material possession but in conduct, conversation and character. We should endeavour to walk God.
PRAYER FOR TODAY:
Dear Lord, in every generation, You have found men worthy, and used them to Your glory and praise. Help us to follow in their footsteps and bring glory to your name. Amen.
