David Abioye: A Glorious Journey of 40years Serving in Winners Chapel
Bishop David Abioye has taken a glorious bow as a pastor from Living Faith Church Worldwide also known as Winners Chapel International after 40 years of service to God and humanity.
His faithful service is laced in humility and loyalty which cannot go unnoticed.
His retirement as the first Vice President and Chairman of Council from the church comes with mixed feelings which according to sources is based on the administrative policy of the church.
The man, David Abioye is a man of impeccable character that symbolizes honesty, integrity and commitment to God.
His life is a demonstration of complete obedience to God which many attest to. A man of humility, with a gentle disposition, worthy of emulation for anyone who wants to make a mark in the place of service and discipleship.
A graduate of Mechanical Engineering from the University of Ilorin, was born on 11th March 1961 in Oyun LGA, Kwara State. He briefly lectured in Open Cast Polytechnic, Auchi, Edo State between 1985 and 1986 before joining the full time ministry.
His meeting with Bishop David Oyedepo dates back to 1980 when Abioye was only 19 years during a Christian Student Fellowship. Abioye said the preaching of Bishop Oyedepo inspired him and ignited his love for God.
They started as being Christian brothers, but over the years transcended into a spiritual father and son relationship.
Abioye describes Bishop David Oyedepo as a life-long mentor saying their relationship was ordained by God before the creation of the world.
Abioye was ordained a Bishop in Winners Chapel in 1993 and has served in several branches beginning from Maiduguri, Borno State before heading to Garden of Faith, Kaduna when Bishop Oyedepo moved to Lagos to start the work.
He served in various churches in the north from Maiduguri to Goshen City, Abuja before retiring at the Church in Lokogoma.
Answering a question during an interview on his guiding philosophy, Abioye said he attributes his success in life and ministry to the Holy Spirit as his Guide and Custodian while maintaining a healthy christian relationship with people built on integrity, truthfulness and transparency.
While many will have mixed feelings about his retirement, Abioye in an interview agrees that he is a staff under Bishop David Oyedepo.
It is more important for people to follow the example he has laid. He has shown what it means to be a faithful steward and follower in the body of Christ.
Bishop David Abioye is the e author of several books, he is married to Mary and they are blessed with three children.
