Douye Diri's Pro-Masses Stance is Helping to Ease Economic Hardship in Bayelsa

Douye Diri’s Pro-Masses Stance is Helping to Ease Economic Hardship in Bayelsa

While people are good at complaining, condemning and speaking negative things, but it is difficult for same persons to commend and appreciate genuine efforts of government.

We are quick to blame the governor and government for the economic realities in the state, forgetting that the prevalent economic woes is a national and global phenomenon. Many fail to understand that the excruciating economic quagmire is a challenge that has become a great source of worry to multitudes.

In the past weeks and months, Miracle and Prosperity Gov. Douye Diri has appointed thousands of aides/appointees. The Governor appointed people in PDP and all the major political parties. He also appointed many from the various Churches, Mosques, traditional institution, non-Ijaw tribes who are resident in the state: Hausa-Fulani, Igbo, Yoruba, Efik-Ibibio and others.

I marvelled at what I saw in Yenagoa precisely at the office of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) and Due Process Office. Over 85% of the appointees are people that could be described as the poor, downtrodden and vulnerable. It would have been difficult for many of the appointees to go close to Government House or even to that of the SSG.

Gov. Douye Diri has appointed thousands. From all indication, no clan or community is left out in the ongoing Festival of Appointment. There are cases where no compound is left out. I mean in communities that have ward or wards alone as the case may be.

Looking at it from a bigger picture, the thousands of appointments have positive multiplier effects. For instance with my appointment, Gov. Douye Diri has touched the lives of my wife, my five (5) children and those of my in-law, my younger sister and her kids that are under my roof in Abuja. Douye Diri has directly impacted positively on the lives of ten (10) people under my roof.

Beside the above, I have many other dependants that I reach out to as their major source of hope, inspiration and motivation.

The above scenario is applicable to majority of the thousands of appointees.

So, which better and greater way of empowering the Masses?

Which better way of alleviating poverty?

Presently, the Governor is working round the clock to Industrialize the state. It is for that reason he is constructing the Nembe-Brass Road to hit the Ocean where the vast wealth of the country lies. Arrangement is in top gear to extend same to the Agge Axis where several ships and vessels anchor daily but the vast economic potentials of Agge have not been harnessed.

The largest wealth in countries that have seas and oceans lie in the maritime sector. Cheeringly, Bayelsa state has the longest coastal line in the country.

Hydro Carbon Energy can be developed to provide electricity to connect all the riverine areas that make up about 55% of the state.

Bayelsa state has some of the best beaches for Tourism.

Bayelsa boast of the best sand that is good for manufacturing of ceramic and glasses.

The potentials and prospects in the fishing industry is huge. Industrialists from the Scandinavian countries like Netherlands, Norway and others can be engaged to build Factories where they will produce canned seafoods, smoked fishes and others for export and local consumption.

Gov. Douye Diri the Father, Proponent and Apostle of the New Bayelsa State. He may not be Lee Luan Yew of Singapore, but he will qualify in our history book as Revolutionary Douye Diri who revolutionarized and set the Agenda and foundation for the New Bayelsa State.

It is pertinent and worthy to summarize that Senator Douye Diri is a perfect match of Plato’s concept of the ‘Philosopher King’. Some may not agree or see things from my perspective, but I am very sure that they will do so in the near future.
