Ekpo Charges NCDMB Management to Do More
Ekperipe Ekpo, Nigeria Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas) charges management team of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) to do more and achieve 70% achievement rate by 2027.
Ekperipe Ekpo gave the charge during his visit to the Nigerian Content Tower in Yenagoa, Bayelsa state and other facilities.
According to him, “To move NCDMB from the current position to 70% by 2027 and we try and make sure that Nigerian companies are empowered. Not empowered at the expense of investors, we have to encourage investors to come in and at the same time, empower our people. So we have to get that Win Win situation, that’s where we are going to be”.
“I am really impressed with what NCDMB has done within a space of 14 years after its creation and I am here as a Minister to encourage them to do more in line with the mandate of Mr President so I appreciate what they have done so far but giving thanks is to urge them to do more so that Nigerians will actually know that NCDMB has lived up to expectation” Ekpo commended the board.
He pointed out that “we are working together with the state government to deliver on the mandate of the federal government. Mr President means well for the country. Now it is time for us to go into the field and do the needful especially on the CNG, when I was meeting with the Directors, I talked about the CNG which we are aware of, the importance of CNG, the reason why we need to go that route, it is cleaner, it is safer and it is cheaper than PMS.
“So we should try as much as possible in the NCDMB to encourage investors, private sector to develop CNG so as to meet with the demands of our country, Nigeria.”
On the on-going protest, he said, “today people are talking about End Bad governance because they are ignorant of what the President meant for this nation. If we have opportunity to sit down and read out all the plans for Nigeria, they will know that this is the best President that we have ever had.
“Within a span of one year, more things has been done. In the next 2 to 3 years, we would see all the projects that he has put in place coming into fruition and then Nigerians would realize that the President meant well for his people.
“I will encourage all of us to identify with the President, be patient with the President, identify with those that are working to deliver on the mandate of Mr President for the good of our country, Nigeria. Nigeria shall be better than what we met at the end of this administration”, the minister pointed out.
