
ENWAF’s Celebration of Two Years of Empowering Women and Girls
The Eunice Nnachi Women Advocacy Foundation (ENWAF) has marked its two-year anniversary, celebrating a milestone of achievements in promoting women’s empowerment, education, and healthcare in Bayelsa State, Nigeria.
ENWAF officially began its operations in March 2023, with a mission to advocate for women’s rights, provide support for vulnerable women and girls, and promote community development.
Over the past two years, ENWAF has implemented various programs and activities aimed at empowering women and girls. Some notable achievements include:
Several sensitization campaigns were conducted in various communities, schools, and markets, raising awareness on issues such as human trafficking, female genital mutilation (FGM), and the importance of education.
in terms of support for vulnerable women, ENWAF provided assistance to vulnerable women, including a 39-year-old autistic woman who was evicted from her house, and a woman who required medical attention for a fibroid operation.
ENWAF partnered with various organizations, including the National Orientation Agency (NOA), the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), and the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), to amplify its impact.
ENWAF participated in health-related initiatives, such as the 2024 World Breastfeeding Week, and joined the cancer center in a live webinar on cancer awareness.
ENWAF joined protests and advocacy campaigns, including the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence, and a protest against divestment by oil companies in the Niger Delta.
