Governor Diri Receives Athletes to Sports Festival in Government House [Photos]
Report by Jonah DaSaint – Douye Diri, governor of Bayelsa State, yesterday receives the state athletes to the 2022 National Sports Festival held in Delta State at the Government House in Yenagoa Bayelsa State.
The governor shared pictures on his official twitter handle.
Governor Diri wrote, “Yesterday, I received our athletes to the 2022 National Sports Festival held in Asaba, Delta State where Team Bayelsa for the first time returned 2nd on the overall medals table.
Our government has rewarded gold, silver and bronze medalists with cash gifts and employment opportunities for some of the athletes. That’s our way of motivating our young population.
While I congratulated them on the feat, I have charged them to further improve on the record in the next edition in Abeokuta, Ogun State in 2024.”
