Findings have shown that most persons who say many negative things and also carry rumour about Governor Douye Diri, do so either out of envy and jealousy about his unprecedented achievements or ignorance.
Some persons in the above category lack information, same way many do not bother to seek to authenticate information before dwelling on negativity.
But the worst group is the group that do not want to hear any positive thing about Bayelsa state. For them, every thing about the state is negative.
In the past two weeks, I have engaged several pessimists and unrepentant critics of the ASSURED Prosperity Administration on so many areas and they confessed that they were not aware of the level of progress His Excellency Very Distinguished Senator Douye Diri has recorded in several areas.
For instance, I was surprised to discover that many Yenagoa Residents have not driven through the Outer Ring that starts from Bayelsa Palm to Igbogene. Gov. Diri inherited that project and started it from AIT Roundabout to Igbogene. That road is one of the best in the Niger Delta region. When you drive through that road in the evening/night, it will look as if you are in a different country or world because of the beauty of the lightening. The quality of the road is excellent.
In the midst of the above, you cannot compare the Bayelsa Palm-Igbogene Ring Road to the sophisticated Road Network in the NEW YENAGOA CITY which cannot only be compared with some of the best roads in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja.
The success story of the Prosperity Administration cannot end at the above listed roads without mentioning the strategic Nembe-Brass Road, Yenagoa-Angiama-Ukubie-Otuan-Oporoma Road and several others.
Gov. Douye Diri is putting finishing arrangement for the commencement of the road to Agge so that Bayelsa state can harness the full economic potentials at Agge and its environ where the prospect for Marine activities and the Blue Economy is huge.
Beyond the issue of Road infrastructure, Gov. Douye Diri is doing so much in the areas of Sports, Education, Health, Workers Welfare, Pensions and Gratuity, Women and Youth empowerment, etc.
Presently, Bayelsa state ranks among the best states in the country in Sports that accommodate the largest and highest number of young people. Sadly, the critics of the government do not commend or appreciate the giant strides of the Governor in the above wise. They are more interested in publishing fake, doctored and concocted Statistics attributed to many anti-Ijaw institutions.
Most critics of the government are pretending as if they are not aware of the giant strides of Gov. Diri in the areas of Security, Peace and Unity of Bayelsa state and indeed the entire Ijaw Nation.
Before now, Bayelsa state was always in the news for wrong reasons but today, the state is adjudged as the safest state in the country. The Community Policing Strategy of the Prosperity Administration is top notch. The proactive nature and response time of the various security agencies can be likened to those of some of the most policed socieities in the world.
Today, Almighty God has used Gov. Douye Diri to give hope and new life to multitudes starting from the reinstated 700 Workers in the Niger Delta University (NDU) to the thousands of Political Appointees that His Excellency graciously appointed in his second term even when he is not seeking a re-election.
Gov. Douye Diri has developed a New Political Culture where no Bayelsan, section or segment of the state is segregated or discriminated against by reason of political affiliation. Bayelsans have deemphasized political party membership and affiliation. They rather amplify peace, unity, progress, growth and development of our great state.
Above all, Bayelsa state and Bayelsans are blessed with a humble, compassionate and very accessible servant-leader who gives all Bayelsans high sense of belonging.
When Lee Kuan Yew, the father of Modern Day Singapore started the building of that country, he was faced with unimaginable criticisms, insults, abuses and all manner of antagonism, but Lee Kuan Yew was able to successfully move that hitherto Third World country to a First World country due to Vision and the power of Dreams.
History will be very Fair to His Excellency, Very Distinguished Senator Douye Diri when the history about the development of our great state shall be written.
Bayelsa state belong to all Bayelsans. It is important to support the Governor to succeed in the building of the New Bayelsa state of our Dream.
