
INC Election: Elder Ogoriba Promises Resource Control, Self Determination and Justice for Ijaw People

A frontline presidential aspirant of the Ijaw National Congress (INC) Worldwide, Elder Timi Kaiser-Wilhelm Ogoriba, has expressed optimism about the future of the Ijaw nation, saying the people can achieve their long-standing aspirations with the right leadership.
Elder Ogoriba spoke over the weekend at Anyama Community in Southern Ijaw LGA, Bayelsa State during a campaign visit to the immediate past Chairman of the INC Central Zone, Dr. Doodei Week, who received him alongside members of his former executive council.
He said his ambition to lead the INC is driven by a desire to promote resource control, self-determination, cultural preservation, environmental justice, peace, and unity among the Ijaw people. According to him, his experience, sacrifices, and involvement in the Ijaw struggle, including being a signatory to the Kaiama Declaration, have prepared him for the responsibility.
The INC presidential hopeful stated that, if elected, he would focus on strengthening and repositioning the organs and committees of the Congress, noting that meaningful progress can be achieved through teamwork and purposeful leadership.
Also speaking, Engr. Ezonebi Oyakemeagbegha, aspirant for National Vice President I, and Hon. Wisdom Ikuli, aspirant for National Publicity Secretary, said they are supporting Elder Ogoriba because of his long-standing and selfless commitment to the Ijaw cause. They described his entry into the race as a positive development for the Ijaw nation.
In his remarks, Dr. Doodei Week described Elder Ogoriba as a credible and respected figure in the Ijaw and Niger Delta struggle, adding that the Ijaw nation needs focused and visionary leadership at this time.
Earlier, Elder Ogoriba and members of his campaign team paid a courtesy visit to the Paramount Ruler of Anyama Community, His Royal Highness Amen Sarkiri.
