The Ijaw Patriotic Movement (IPM) has described the passing away of a foremost Ijaw elder statesman, icon and prolific advocate of Ijaw values, late Pa E K Clark as not only a big loss to Ijaw nation but also a vacuum that would be difficult to fill.
The National President of IPM, Comrade Mislaw Ganren who stated this while addressing the body’s executive members in Yenagoa further noted that the late Pa E K Clark played a remarkable role in the development of Ijaw ethnic nationality generally while alive, adding that IPM as a body is still in mourning mood.
He also opined that the late sage used all the socio-political experience he gathered right from the days of the 1963 Republican constitution till his death for the overall advancement of Ijaw course, reiterating that the late elder statesman ensured that the educational policy of the old Bendel state spread to over 70% of the local communities when he was the then Commissioner of Education which was an eloquent testimony of his contributions to the educational development of Ijaw nation.
The IPM National President also opined that the late Pa E K Clark stood for justice, transparency and fairplay, particularly in the political circle of the Ijaws which was evident in the role he played in the amicable settlement of the tribal and inter tribal crisis in Warri South local government area in 1996, adding that other noble legacies, especially the building of bridges of unity, love and oneness earned him as the father of Ijaw nation while alive.
He prayed that God gives members of the late Pa E K Clark the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
