TOPIC: Spiritual Power

Today’s Scripture: But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you…. — ACTS 1:8 (NIV)

TODAY’S JOYCE MEYER 19/02/22 DAILY DEVOTIONAL | INSIGHT

Part of our privilege as believers in Christ is to receive the power of the Holy Spirit. Without that power, nothing we do is effective. Spiritual power is the influence that leads people to accept Christ as their personal Savior and follow Him. We may teach and preach God’s Word, and do so eloquently, but still be devoid of the power of the Holy Spirit. Our words may even move people emotionally, but they do not move them spiritually. Paul reminded the Thessalonians that the Gospel did not come to them in word only, but in power (see 1 Thessalonians 1:5).

The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity. He brings us the power of God and enables us to do great things. He speaks through those who speak the Word and ministers to those who hear it. We should depend on the Holy Spirit to strengthen us and to help us in everything we do. He is the one who walks alongside us, lives in us, and enables us to do all that we need to do in life.

Pray daily to be filled with the power of the Holy Spirit and to enjoy the benefits of all of the gifts of the Spirit. His power and gifts will enable you to help people who are lost and in need of Christ. Jesus promised us this power right before He ascended to heaven, and we should never be content to live without it.

Prayer Starter: Father, I desperately need the power of the Holy Spirit filling me every moment of every day. I ask that You baptize me with the Holy Spirit and grant me the gifts He desires for me to have so I may effectively serve You and help increase Your kingdom. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Thank you for reading Joyce Meyer Devotional 19 February 2022 | Spiritual Power. Have a great weekend!
