N/Delta Youth Organisations Condemns Adams Marbo’s Attacks On NDDC Youth Affairs Rep
A Coalition of Niger Delta Youth Organisations, on Thursday, describe as not only unfounded but also a deliberate attempt by Mr. Adams E. O. Marbo, President of the Niger Delta Progressive Youth Leadership Foundation, to malign the integrity and outstanding contributions of Comrade
Matthew Asime Dango, Special Assistant on Youth Affairs to the Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
The group expressed deep concern over the recent baseless and derogatory comments in a statement signed by Comrade Datonye Iketubosin,
(President Coalition of Ijaw Youths),
Princess Adawari George,
(Niger Delta Youth for Practical Development), Engr Mogbitse George, (NDYCPP), Hon Legodo Mene, (Ogoni Youth Alliance), and Hon McPrince Mbu, (ANND).
The statement read “His statements are devoid of credible evidence and seem to be driven by personal vendettas rather than objective concerns”
It is important to note that Mr. Marbo’s record in youth leadership and peacebuilding is questionable. His tenure as Head of Peace Building and Conflict Resolution in the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) failed and documented dismissal, a testament to his lack of capacity and vision for youth engagement in the Niger Delta.
Marbo’s criticisms are not only unfounded but also appear to be a deliberate attempt to malign the integrity and outstanding contributions of Comrade Dango and the current NDDC leadership”
Under the present NDDC administration, landmark initiatives such as Project Hope and the Youth Internship Scheme have been successfully launched, positively impacting thousands of young people across the region.
Comrade Dango has been instrumental in the design, promotion, and execution of these programs, ensuring that the benefits reach grassroots communities. We challenge Mr. Marbo to substantiate his claims with verifiable evidence.
His track record of failure, includes:
Poor performance during his leadership at PAP, repeated obstruction of credible youth organizations from accessing meaningful engagement platforms.
Also, his denial of strategic opportunities to respected youth bodies and other key stakeholders in the Niger Delta communities amongst others, speaks volume of his character.
The Coalition demands immediate retraction of his defamatory statements and a public apology to Comrade Dango as failure to comply will compel us to pursue appropriate responses to safeguard the integrity of those genuinely working for the progress of the Niger Delta.
He and his co-travellers should note that we will not tolerate reckless falsehoods because the Niger Delta region is experiencing a season of constructive youth engagement and developmental strides, and so we will not sit idly while individuals like Marbo try to derail this progress through misinformation and personal vendettas.
We remain steadfast in our commitment to protecting the image and efforts of sincere actors like Comrade Dango, whose dedication to youth development continues to uplift our people.
