TOPIC: LET GOD BE FIRST
Those who take God seriously don’t regret in life.
SCRIPTURE: Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime. Daniel 6:10
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Those who take God seriously don’t regret in life.
Sometime ago, we met a young lady who was into prostitution in order to fend for her siblings. I asked this lady to leave the lifestyle of prostitution and give her life to Jesus Christ. She told me, “I don’t have a mother and my father is not doing well. If I don’t do it, we would not have what to eat in the house”. Then I told her, if you have to die of hunger, die instead of using your body to get cursed money to feed your family. In response, she said, “Yes sir!” and left that immoral lifestyle.
At the time we were talking to her, she was already HIV positive with blocked fallopian tubes, and all manner of afflictions. But this is the interesting part: God healed her of all these diseases when she repented, and put God first in her life. This is more than fourteen years now. She later got married to a pastor, and together, they have three children, and all the children are HIV negative.
If you see her today and they say prostitution was once her job, you would never believe it because of the level of her life’s transformation. That is what God can do when you make Him first in your life.
Beloved, my counsel is, seek God above everything else under heaven. Do not let anything come in-between you and God – not a man, a woman, money, or a decree from government. Come to a point in your life where there is nothing and no one to come in-between you and your God. Daniel was willing to lose his life instead of disobeying God (Daniel 6:10-16). Let your relationship with God be so rigid that nothing can break it. If you have to lose your work, lose it in a hurry if that work is anti-God. You cannot be stranded. Those who take God seriously don’t regret in life.
Remember this: Those who take God seriously don’t regret in life.
ASSIGNMENTS:
1. Seek God first in everything you do.
2. Determine to follow God and His Word all the way. Refuse to take actions that are contrary to God’s Word no matter the pressure to do so.
3. Maintain a consistent fellowship with God at the place of prayer, worship and study of the Word.
