“There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many?” (John 6: 9)

In bible times, particularly in Israel, there was wheat loaves for the rich and barley loaves for the poor and peasants. Notice that Jesus was followed by all sorts of people, both rich and poor. Jesus was followed by people who could afford wheat bread, and those who could afford just the barley loaves. The lad in our Focal Scripture had barley loaves, and it was chosen. What he had was not the best, but it was desirable and chosen.

Friend, what you have may not be the best, but you will be chosen. What you have may not be the best, but El Roi is about to make it attract the attention of kings and nobles. Your capacity and abilities may not be the best, your career may not be the best, your business may not be the best, your ministry may not be the best, what you have in your hands may not be the best, but El Roi is about to make it the most desirable of all.

Jesus did not need the bread to be wheat bread before He caused it to multiply. He didn’t need what was available to be the best, but He had what it took to make the barley loaves to multiply. Hear me as I hear the Lord: what you have in your hands may not be the best, but Jesus has what it takes to multiply it. Jesus has what it takes to increase what is in your hands. Jesus has what it takes to make all things new in your favour.

Jesus gave thanks before He broke the bread to give to the multitude through His disciples. So, what eventually came to the multitude were not just mere barley loaves; what came to them were loaves that Jesus had touched and heaven had blessed. Hear me again: The grace of God on your life will make you to become all things to all men. The grace of God will cause men to desire you when you may not even be the best.

Welcome to your season of more than you prayed for. Welcome to that season where El Roi will make you desirable to your generation.

Ephesians 2: 10 says: “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”
