Streams of Joy Devotional 19 June 2025 Jerry Eze – Bible Verse ||
“And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would.” (John 6: 11)

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

INSIGHT || Streams of Joy Devotional 19th June 2025 Jerry Eze

In our Focal Scripture, Jesus took the loaves of bread and gave thanks to God. He had a multitude of five thousand men to feed, and He only had five loaves and two fishes to feed them, yet He gave thanks. His provision was way below His need and challenge, but He gave thanks. What He had was too little to solve the problem at hand, and He gave thanks. In the midst of not having enough for the season, Jesus gave thanks.

Friend, when your little is not enough, give thanks. When your loaves are not enough for the multitude, give thanks. When your helpers are not enough to bring the help you need, give thanks. When you cannot do much with what you have in your hands, give thanks. When you are disappointed with your level of provision, give thanks. Give thanks for the little you have in your hands. Give thanks in the midst of insufficiency.

Jesus did not thank because He had more than enough to feed the multitude; He gave thanks in the midst of little. He gave thanks when His challenge exceeded His physical resources. True thanksgiving is not to give thanks because of things which are enough; true thanksgiving says to give thanks even when there isn’t enough reason. Thanksgivers are grateful to God in the midst of little. Thanksgivers thank God for not enough.

Did you notice that after thanking God for the little, the little did not remain little? Thanksgiving did not leave the five loaves and two fishes the same. Your thanksgiving will not leave you where it met you. Thanksgiving will open new doors you never imagined you could ever have. Thanksgiving will make your little to become much. Thanksgiving will open new chapters of increase you did not exactly prepare for.

Don’t let the idea that you have little, stop you from giving thanks. Be grateful for your little. Be grateful for what you have even if it is not enough.

Psalm 100: 4 says: “Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.”
