Streams of Joy Devotional 26 March 2025 – Expect The New
“And they said unto her, There is none of thy kindred that is called by this name.” (Luke 1: 61)
That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.
In our Focal Scripture, the relatives of Zachariah protested because no one in their kindred bore the name of John. It was God who gave the name of John to the son that was born to Zachariah and Elizabeth, and the name that God gave was new to the relatives of Zachariah. What God decreed for the child was the first of its kind in the lineage of Zachariah. What God wanted to make happen in the life of the child was the first of its kind.
Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: you are about to be a recipient of what has not been done for people around you. You are about to be the first partaker of the strange acts of God in dimensions that are new to people around you. You are about to be the first to receive the favours that have not been shared to people around you. You are about to receive divine provision in dimensions that people around you have not received.
God chose to do a great thing in Israel, and He chose to include Zachariah’s child. God decided to do a great thing, and He made a new name come into the lineage of Zachariah. Hear me as I hear the Lord: a new thing is about to come your way, and it will have the finger of God written all over it. A new thing is going to come your way, and it will fit into the agenda of heaven so distinctly in a way that will make you stand out.
The relatives of Zachariah had recycled names amongst them and probably wanted to continue the same cycle with the new born child, but God had other plans. He brought something new that they had never seen before. He brought a new pattern that they were not used to. What God is about to do for you will break old patterns and spring pleasant surprises to those who hear it. God will make you a reference point for the new.
Welcome to that season where heaven will cause you to have what others around you have not been given. Welcome to that season where God will make the new to happen for you with His finger all over it.
Isaiah 43: 19 says: “Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.”
Declare With Me: God will set new standards with the new thing He will make happen for me, in Jesus’ name!
