Streams of Joy Devotional 29 June 2025 Jerry Eze – Bible Verse
“Therefore they gathered them together, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves, which remained over and above unto them that had eaten.” (John 6: 13)
That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

Our Focal Scripture speaks of how there were twelve baskets filled with fragments of the five barley loaves. Jesus had earlier asked about where they could buy bread. His agenda for feeding the multitude, was bread. Notice that eventually, there was a lad who had five barley loaves and two fishes, which multiplied and fed the multitude. Notice also that only the bread remained. Only what Jesus initially sought for, remained.
Friend, be careful to discern the agenda of heaven for your increase. There are times when your fish would only multiply but not remain. There would be times when your bread would multiply and also remain. There would be times when heaven decides on what you should have in abundance and what should only be enough to satisfy you. The same way Jesus sought for bread and caused only the bread to remain, discern what heaven wants to remain in your life and what should not remain.
The help of God in your life comes with an agenda. God has a purpose even when He causes a multiplication of what you have. There are seasons when only your bread is permitted to multiply. There are seasons when your fish would also multiply. Be content in your journey with God and with whatever He seeks to multiply per time. Be content to have abundance, or just satisfaction depending as heaven desires it.
Notice that in another scripture, the same Jesus that did not allow the fish to remain, actually multiplied fish unto Peter (see Luke 5). As heaven causes you to witness growth and increase, discern the areas where you will multiply and the areas where you will have to be satisfied with just enough. Discern the agenda of God for your increase. Discern the will and purpose of God for whatever He brings or does not bring your way.
Stick to the agenda of divine help that has come your way. Don’t be in a hurry to desire the multiplication that heaven did not ordain for you.
Ephesians 5: 15 says: “See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,”
