“1. And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the LORD: and the LORD delivered them into the hand of Midian seven years. 2. And the hand of Midian prevailed against Israel…” (Judges 6: 1-2)
That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.
Our Focal Scripture speaks of how the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord, and the Lord put them in the hands of Midian for seven years. One of the meanings of ‘Midian’, is ‘covering’. So the children of Israel were positioned in a place where they were covered. Their destinies were covered. They could have been more, but they were covered. They may have had capacity to defeat their enemies, but they were covered.
When a man is covered, he does not see what wants to attack him. When a man is covered, those who should see him to favour him will not see him. When a man is covered, his next level remains a mirage and a distant reality. When a man is covered, his potentials and potentialities are not in the purview of the people. When a man is covered, even people below him are preferred, and he is reduced to obscurity.
Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: every satanic covering over your life is torn by fire. Every satanic voice that is causing you to be ignored, I silence it by fire. Every covering from the pit of hell that does not want you to be seen by your helpers, I tear it now. I tear every negative garment that makes men to overlook you. I tear every negative covering that causes you to be perceived wrongly. I tear every covering cast over your destiny.
Hear me as I hear the Lord: arise, shine! Let there be light upon your destiny! Let the eyes of your helpers locate you now. Let the eyes of those you need be opened to see you. Let the eyes of your own understanding be enlightened to see where you should be at the moment. Let the opportunities that befit your destiny mandate begin to locate you now. Let the true weight of your destiny begin to manifest now.
The days of being covered, are over. The light of God shines upon you. The glory of the Lord is risen upon you.
Isaiah 25: 7 says: “And he will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering cast over all people, and the vail that is spread over all nations.”
