Victor Oroyi Unveils Book Cover Design for Breathing Uncertainty, Invites Public Opinion
Yenagoa — Nigerian author and journalist, Victor Oroyi, has unveiled the proposed cover design for his forthcoming book, Breathing Uncertainty, and has invited members of the public to share their opinions on the final choice.
The new book, a collection of 12 narrative stories, captures the essence of daily human experiences — exploring hope, struggle, faith, and transformation in the face of uncertainty. Each story, according to the author, mirrors moments that define human resilience and emotional depth across different times and circumstances.
Oroyi explained that his decision to involve the public in choosing the cover design stems from a belief in inclusivity and creative collaboration. “Books are for people, and I want readers to feel connected even before they open the first page,” he said. “The cover is the first conversation between the book and its readers — it must reflect honesty and connection.”
Known for his reflective prose and journalistic insight, Oroyi described Breathing Uncertainty as a mirror of contemporary life, chronicling how individuals navigate doubt, faith, and hope in unpredictable times. The author revealed that the 12 stories were inspired by personal encounters, observations, and the collective struggles of society.

Since its online unveiling, the book cover design has generated growing engagement on social media, with readers and literary enthusiasts actively voting and commenting on their preferred design.
Oroyi disclosed that the book is expected to be released later this year, with official launches planned in Yenagoa and other major Nigerian cities.

With Breathing Uncertainty, Victor Oroyi continues his tradition of blending storytelling with social reflection, offering readers a deeply relatable and thought-provoking literary experience.
He is the author of two stage plays, Broken Lines, and Pace of a Snail.
