…urges Nigeria to practice federalism
Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri has paid tributes to the first Governor of Bayelsa state, late Chief Diepreye Solomon Peter Alamieyeseigha, describing him as a leader who stood for truth, justice and environmental rights for his people.
Governor Diri gave the honour during the 10th memorial of the late icon at the DSP Alamieyeseigha Banquet hall, Yenagoa, stressing that the legacies and ideology of Alamieyeseigha has now become a movement that advocates change, good governance, human rights, unity, resource control and federalism amongst others.
