15 Bayelsa Youths in NIPSS Kuru for Leadership Development Programme
Fifteen youths from Bayelsa State are attending a 2-week youth leadership development programme at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) Kuru, Jos.
This strategic training is in alignment with the Bayelsa State youth policy under the visionary leadership of His Excellency, Senator Douye Diri, where the state is taking bold steps to equip young leaders with the knowledge, tools, and exposure required to thrive in today’s dynamic world.
The Bayelsa youth leaders at NIPSS are drawn from the State Centre for Youth Development, National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Ijaw Youth Council (IYC), National Youth Parliament, Student Union Governments, Federated/Community Youth Presidents, and Youth Development Officers from the Ministry of Youth Development.
The Commissioner for Youth Development, Mr. Alfred Kemepado, stated that the ongoing training is just one of many youth and leadership development programmes the Governor has approved to run through the year, home and abroad.
He also said that the Governor approved the youth training programmes to ensure strategic investment in the minds of youths to shape Bayelsa’s future.
The young leaders at NIPSS are being sharpened in policy, leadership, and nation-building, gaining insights from Nigeria’s top policy think tank, engaging in dialogue that challenges perspectives, and being prepared to take on roles of greater responsibility across communities, institutions, and government.
