
AADARAI Seeks Support From Traditional Rulers to Reduce Drug Abuse in Community
Advocacy Against Drug Abuse and Rehabilitation Awareness Initiative (AADARAI), Bayelsa State Chapter is seeking the support of traditional rulers in the state to reduce drug abuse and to promote rehabilitation through advocacy, education, and community-driven action.
This was made when members of the group led by the State Coordinator, Dr Emmanuel Adu, paid a courtesy visit on the Chairman of the Bayelsa State Traditional Rulers Council, HRM King Bubaraye Dakolo(Agada IV) in his office in Yenagoa.
According to the State Coordinator, Dr. Adu, the vision of AADARAI, is to develop engaging strategic plans to reduce drug abuse in society and to promote rehabilitation through advocacy, education, and community-driven action.
He conveyed felicitations from the National Coordinator to the monarch, adding there are plans for the National officers to visit the state.
In his response, HRM King Bubaraye Dakolo (Agada IV) expressed his appreciation for the group to work Traditional Rulers in their efforts to reduce drug abuse in the community.
The monarch lauded the initiative of AADARAI stressing that the task is demanding and herculean, given how drug abuse had eaten deep into the fabric of the society.
He called on the group to build a working synergy with government agencies charged with the responsibilities of drugs and related for a holistic approach to tackle the menace.
