Bayelsa, ENWAF Launch Third Phase of Big Catch Up Immunization Exercise
The Bayelsa State Primary Health Care Board, in collaboration with the Eunice Nnachi Women Advocacy Foundation (ENWAF), has launched the third phase of the Big Catch Up immunization exercise.
The initiative aims to immunize children aged 0-5 years against deadly vaccine-preventable diseases.
To raise awareness, officials from the Bayelsa State Primary Health Care Board and ENWAF took to the streets and markets yesterday, informing residents about the importance of routine immunization and encouraging parents to make their children available for vaccination.
The Big Catch Up exercise seeks to bridge the immunization gap and protect children from vaccine-preventable diseases.
The representatives of the board took turns to urge the parents and caregivers to take advantage of this opportunity to safeguard their children’s health.
According to the reps, the exercise is expected to run for a specified period, from 11th to 16th and vaccination centers have been designated across the state.
On her part, ENWAF CEO Lady Eunice Nnachi, urged parents and caregivers to prioritize the health and well-being of their children.
Nnachi said, “as we embark on this Big Catch Up immunization exercise, I urge all parents and caregivers to prioritize the health and well-being of their children.
“Vaccination is a crucial step in protecting our children from deadly diseases. Let’s work together to ensure every child in Bayelsa State is immunized and healthy.
“Moreover the vaccine is free, so leverage on it and ensure your child catch up with her peers”
The collaboration between the state government and ENWAF underscores the commitment to improving healthcare outcomes for children in Bayelsa State.
