The women of Bayelsa State expressed heartfelt appreciation to the wife of the President, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, for distributing food and other self-sustaining items to low-income earners and vulnerable women across the state.
Speaking on behalf of the women on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, the wife of the Bayelsa State Governor, Dr. (Mrs.) Gloria Diri, commended the First Lady for her love and generosity during a ceremony held in Yenagoa.
Dr. Diri, who hosted the First Lady’s representative, Her Excellency, Hajiya Nana Shettima, the wife of the Vice President, noted that the visit was to officially hand over food items to vulnerable groups, households, and low-income earners under the Food Outreach Scheme of the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI).
She highlighted that the event brought visible joy and relief to many Bayelsa women, describing the Renewed Hope Initiative as a catalyst for social and economic empowerment.
“Seeing the smile and joy on the faces of the many women who received their portion of the food items as they danced was truly satisfying. It shows that the RHI interventions are fostering growth and hope among our people,” Dr. Diri said.
