Ademola Adeleke, governor of Osun State has be charged to consider persons living with disabilities in the ongoing teachers’ recruitment exercise.
The group under the aegis, Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities (JONAPWD), Osun State Chapter, in a statement issued by its Chairman, Stephen Oluwafemi, also sought the quick implementation of the disability law passed in the state.
“We call on the government to ensure that persons with disabilities are given fair representation and equal opportunities in the recruitment process.
“The implementation of this bill will not only improve the lives of persons with disabilities but also enhance the socio-economic development of Osun State. We, therefore, appeal to the government to ensure inclusive recruitment processes in all state government agencies, provide reasonable accommodations and support services for persons with disabilities, and allocate sufficient resources for the implementation of the bill.
“We are confident that the Osun State Government will take prompt action to implement the Disability Bill, and we look forward to working together to create a more inclusive society”.
