
CSS Oruma Joins NAPTIP’s Anti-Trafficking in Persons Vanguard Club
Community Secondary School, (CSS) Oruma in Ogbia Local Government Area has joined Anti-Trafficking in Persons Vanguard Club as National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) Bayelsa State Command takes its sensitisation campaign across the state.
Speaking during the inauguration, Mr Fadeware Timiebiowei, acting state Commander represented by Mr Wariebi Sambo, Head of Public Enlightenment Unit charged students to report suspected cases of human trafficking.
Mr. Sambo said they were in the school to educate both students and teachers on the danger’s of human trafficking, Child abuse and Gender Based Violence and to Inaugurate Anti – Trafficking in Persons and Violence Against Persons Vanguard in the school.
The head of Enlightenment unit explained the need to educate the students on the functions of NAPTIP, forms of human trafficking and ways to report human trafficking cases.
He further charged the students to report any suspected case they hear or see to the Agency
Mr Wariebi Sambo charged the students that as Vanguards, to be watchful of happenings around them and also enlighten their school mates of the importance of reporting any move or persons that may want to lure them into trafficking.
In response the school principal Mr. Obi Sunny Julius thanked the Agency for finding time to visiting the school, he promised that the school (Community Secondary School, Oruma in Ogbia Local Government Area) will be good ambassador of NAPTIP in the fight against human trafficking in the state.
