
Dr. Agoro Heads The Light Chapel Credentials Screening Committee
The Light Chapel of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Bayelsa State Council, has inaugurated a three-member Credentials Screening Committee (CSC) to oversee the conduct of elections into the Chapel’s Executive Committee.
The committee is chaired by Dr. Solomon Agoro, with former Director at the Ministry of Information, Mr. Chris Odi, serving as Secretary, and Mr. Japheth Ebiwari as a member.
Speaking during the inauguration, Publisher of The Light newspaper, Mr. Ebi Ozegbe, charged the committee to ensure a transparent, credible, and constitutionally guided electoral process.
He urged interested aspirants of the chapel to present actionable programs and ideas aimed at repositioning the Chapel for greater impact, noting that The Light Chapel remains one of the oldest and most respected chapels within the Council.
In his acceptance remarks, Dr. Agoro expressed appreciation to members of the Chapel for the confidence reposed in him and his team. He assured that the committee would discharge its duties with utmost fairness, integrity, and adherence to the NUJ constitution.
The inauguration was held during the monthly congress at the chapel secretariat.
