Ebi Andy Ozegbe 60th Birthday Medical Outreach Kicks Off
The Free Medical Outreach as part of activities for the celebration of the 60th Birthday of the Publisher of The Light Newspaper, Mr. Ebi Andy Ozegbe has commenced today, Monday, March 17, 2025 at Delight Journalists Hangout along Punch Road off Imgbi Road Amarata in Yenagoa.
In his opening remarks at the medical outreach, the convener of the programme,, Agbowe Happy Buloimbile, a Community Health Practitioner upgrading his qualification at the Bayelsa Medical University in collaboration with the celebrant said The Light Newspaper is among newspapers that started publication when Bayelsa State was created and still waxing strong.
He hinted that many of the tabloids in circulation before and after when The Light Newspaper started has expired and commended Mr. Ebi Andy Ozegbe for sustaining the paper and still publishing regularly inspite of the high cost of production.
Agbowe Happy Buloimbile said the medical outreach is organized to honour the publisher, a way of giving back to the society and contribute to the healthcare need of the people.
Also speaking the operations officer of the Medical Outreach, Mrs. Daniel Regina Ololo also a Community Health Practitioner undergoing training at the Bayelsa Medical University informed that services provided include free blood and sugar test, malaria treatment, donation of treated mosquito nets, eye test among others.
She enjoined the general public to attend the medical outreach to know and improve their health status.
In his remarks, the celebrant expressed gratitude to God for keeping him alive to celebrate 60 years and thanked all Journalists particularly in Bayelsa State for their show of solidarity and support for the mile stones he has recorded in the journalism practice over the years in Nigeria.
Mr. Ebi Andy Ozegbe said the medical outreach will last from 17th to 19th March, 2025 which will climax the 60 years birthday celebration at Delight Journalists Hangout along Punch Road off Imgbi Road Amarata in Yenagoa on Wednesday March 19, 2025.
