Ememobong Anthony Charges Society to Nurture Future Leaders at Children’s Book Launch
By Our Correspondent, UYO — Renowned youth advocate and public speaker, Queen Ememobong Anthony, has called on parents, teachers, community leaders, and stakeholders to invest more deliberately in the development of children, describing them as the future leaders whose potential must be nurtured today.
Anthony made the call during the public presentation and launch of books authored by nine young writers at an event themed “Children: Our Future Leaders.”
Speaking before an audience of parents, educators, authors, and community members, she described the occasion as more than a book launch, noting that it represented the unveiling of future leaders, innovators, policymakers, scholars, and nation-builders.
According to her, the achievement of the nine young authors demonstrates that age is not a limitation to greatness and that leadership begins with the courage to dream, learn, and take action.
“Today is not merely the unveiling of books; it is the unveiling of future leaders. These children have shown us that leadership does not begin in adulthood but starts when one dares to dream and act,” she said.
Anthony emphasized that every successful leader was once a child whose talents were discovered, nurtured, and encouraged. She urged adults to create environments where children can flourish and realize their full potential.
Highlighting the importance of reading and education, she noted that books remain powerful instruments of transformation.
“A child who reads develops the ability to think. A child who thinks develops the ability to solve problems. And a child who solves problems becomes a leader capable of transforming society,” she stated.
Addressing the young authors and other children present, Anthony encouraged them to remain focused, humble, disciplined, and committed to learning. She reminded them that true leadership is founded on character, integrity, service, and responsibility rather than position or power.
She also commended parents and guardians for their sacrifices and dedication, noting that the success of children is often built upon the support, encouragement, and commitment of families.
The speaker further applauded teachers and mentors for their invaluable role in shaping future generations through education and guidance.
Calling for collective action, Anthony urged communities to cultivate a culture that promotes reading, creativity, innovation, and leadership among children.
She challenged parents to buy books for children, teachers to inspire young writers, and community leaders to support educational initiatives that empower young people.
“If we invest in our children today, we will not have to repair society tomorrow,” she remarked.
The event culminated in the official presentation of books written by the nine young authors, drawing admiration from attendees who praised the children for their creativity, confidence, and intellectual achievement.
The ceremony served as a powerful reminder of the immense potential residing in young minds and the critical role society plays in nurturing the leaders of tomorrow.
