
ENWAF Calls on Parents to Get Children Vaccinated to Reduce Preventable Diseases
The Eunice Nnachi Women Advocacy Foundation, ENWAF has celebrated the Immunization week with a call on parents and care givers to ensure that their children get vaccinated inorder to reduce vaccine preventable diseases.
The World Immunization Week which began on April 24 to 30, 2025 with the theme: Immunization for All is Humanly Possible is a global reminder that vaccines save lives.
Chief Executive Officer, ENWAF, Lady Eunice Nnachi who spoke to some persons at the Zarama Health Center in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital noted that the foundation is committed to educating and informing persons about the importance and benefits of vaccination through community outreaches.
“At ENWAF, our commitment includes raising awareness about the importance of vaccines in preventing disease, integrating immunization education into schools and community health programs, providing access to vaccines during medical outreach missions in underserved areas.”
Also speaking, Assistant Chief Health Education Officer, Mrs Mabel Seyeifa Iberia also urged women to continue immunizing their children as the vaccines are safe and effective.
On her part, Program Officer, Voice of the Ijaw Girl Child, Blessing Ewerem who spoke on the dangers of gender based violence called on parents to be cautious and ensure that they protect their children from paedophiles.
A mother, Mrs Blessing Moses who was present at the health center commended the health officials for their efficiency in the delivery of health services to the people.
