Fuel Price Hike: Transport Fare Doubles in Yenagoa, Commuters Stranded
The cost of transport fare early morning Thursday doubles in Yenagoa, capital of Bayelsa State as many commuters were held stranded on the major Chief Melford Okilo expressway otherwise called Mbiama/Yenagoa Road.
Users of the popular keke, a tricycle used for commercial internal transportation were seen bargaining and pop out.
A drop between communities now stands at N200 as against N100 earlier this week. For long distance, the keke rider charges as much as N700.
It will be recalled that the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) Tuesday raised the pump price of petrol to N897 per litre from the official price of N617.
