
FURIBS Congratulates Dr. Peter Akpe on Appointment as Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State
The Federated Union of Rivers Indigenes in Bayelsa State (FURIBS) has extended warm congratulations to Dr. Peter Akpe following his appointment as the Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State.
In a statement signed by its President, Chief Barisuka Prince Beteh, the union described Dr. Akpe’s elevation as “well-deserved and timely,” noting that his track record in public service reflects competence, integrity, and dedication to the advancement of the state.
Chief Beteh stated that Dr. Akpe’s appointment is a clear recognition of his years of committed service and administrative experience, expressing confidence that he will effectively support the administration of Governor Douye Diri in delivering democratic dividends to the people.
According to the union, Dr. Akpe’s emergence as Deputy Governor signals continuity, stability, and strengthened governance in the state. FURIBS emphasized the importance of inclusive leadership and peaceful coexistence among diverse communities resident in Bayelsa, assuring the new Deputy Governor of its support and cooperation.
The statement further prayed for wisdom, strength, and divine guidance for Dr. Akpe as he assumes the responsibilities of his new office.
