GBV: Starrz Safety Initiative Strikes Renewed Partnership With NAPTIP
In a bid to kick out traffickers and perpetrators of gender based violence, GBV from Bayelsa State, Starrz Safety Initiative, a Yenagoa-based non-government organization, NGO strikes a renewed partnership with the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons, NAPTIP.
The partnership was reached when Mrs Mary Accrah Bekeowei, executive director of Starrz Safety Initiative, led members on a courtesy visit to the Bayelsa State command of National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons, NAPTIP in Yenagoa.
Speaking during the visit, Mrs Accrah Bekeowei informed Mrs Abieyuwa Ikhidero, NAPTIP’s state commander that they are in her office to explore avenue of collaboration to end violence against women and girls as well as activities of traffickers in Bayelsa State.
Mrs Accrah Bekeowei said her organisation is focused on raising awareness on issues on GBV, climate change and its impact on women, advocating on women’s right and girl-child education and wants to partner with NAPTIP as part of Starrz Safety Initiative strategic plans to scale-up its activities in 2025.
In her response, Mrs. Abieyuwa Ikhidero, the state commander appreciated members of Starrz Safety Initiative for the visit and enlighten the guests on NAPTIP’s operational strategies.
She reiterated the agency’s commitment and readiness to partner with credible organizations to strenghten the fight against human trafficking in Bayelsa State.
