Gloria Diri Foundation Host Indigent Children to Christmas Party

The Gloria Diri Foundation on Saturday, 12th December, 2020 surprised residents and children of Alamieyeseigha Estate, Opolo when it hosted a Christmas party.

The foundation during the event distributed over three hundred ready made cloths to children between the ages of one to thirteen with other side attractions like bouncing castle, Father Christmas and gift items.

Coordinator, Gloria Diri Foundation, Dr. Juliet Teibowei said the gesture is in tandem with the organisations core values of reaching out to the less privileged including the elderly and children in the society.

Dr. Teibowei, who hinted that Christmas is a season of love and celebration, said the event was organised to give the children a sense of belonging and hope for a better future.

She however called on public-spirited individuals and organisations to show love and care to the vulnerable people in the society, as it is what Jesus stands for.

Member, Board of Directors, Gloria Diri Foundation, Dr Ann Obuebite thanked the children and parents for organising themselves, saying the foundation achieved its aim of putting smiles of their faces.

According to Dr. Obuebite, the foundation held a similar event for indigent children at the Cameroon Camp in Ekeki, Yenagoa last year and will continue to touch and impact lives in the state.

She said the Gloria Diri Foundation also plans to hold a similar event for the elderly as well as for children from the eight local government area of the state on a yet to be announced date.

Secretary, Alamieyeseigha Estate, Opolo, Mr. Victor Perekpo, who spoke on behalf of the parents, appreciated the Gloria Diri Foundation for the gesture, describing it as timely, wise and emotional.

He however appealed to the state government to remember the less privilege in the estate and give a helping hand in the spirit of love and Christmas.

Highpoint was the distribution of over three hundred cloths, father Christmas caps, fancy glasses to the children between the ages of one to thirteen among others.
