Ighodalo: Why I Started 24-Hour Praise Programme Nearly 20 Years Ago
By Dim Oba, LAGOS – Senior Pastor of Trinity House, Ituah Ighodalo, has explained that the 24-hour praise programme was established to dedicate an entire day to worshipping and appreciating God for His goodness.
Ighodalo said the initiative began almost 20 years ago when he was serving as the pastor in charge of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Christ Church Parish.
According to him, the idea was driven by his desire to make the church more impactful in society beyond its four walls and create an opportunity for believers to offer undivided praise and worship to God.
He explained that at a time when many churches were largely focused on miracles and breakthroughs, he felt there was a need to set aside dedicated time to praise and worship God for His faithfulness and blessings.
“This 24-hour praise programme started almost 20 years ago when I was the pastor in charge of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Christ Church Parish,” he said.
Ighodalo added that the initiative was conceived to encourage believers to focus on appreciating God for what He had done rather than concentrating solely on what they hoped to receive from Him.
He said the vision behind the programme was to strengthen the culture of thanksgiving and deepen people’s commitment to worship.
Ighodalo is the Senior Pastor of Trinity House, a Christian ministry known for its emphasis on worship, faith and community engagement.
