
INC Election: Elder T.K. Ogoriba Picks Interest Form for Apex INC Presidency
The race for the presidency of the Ijaw National Congress (INC) intensified as Elder T.K. Ogoriba formally obtained his interest form to contest for the apex presidential position of the Congress. The exercise, which took place at the IJAW House, was marked by the presence of a large and enthusiastic entourage, signaling strong grassroots and stakeholder support for his ambition.
Addressing supporters at the event, Elder Ogoriba reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to the ideals, vision, and core values of the Ijaw National Congress. He pledged to provide purposeful and inclusive leadership that would strengthen the INC and reposition it as a more effective, cohesive, and responsive umbrella body for the Izon people.
He stated that, if elected, his administration would work collaboratively with the Executive Council and all arms and organs of the INC to ensure synergy, inclusiveness, and optimal performance. According to him, every organ of the Congress must be active, functional, and impactful in advancing the collective interests of the Izon nation.
Elder Ogoriba emphasized that he remains focused and undistracted by negative impressions or distractions, stressing that his attention is firmly fixed on securing victory at the polls scheduled for March 7. He expressed confidence in his candidacy, describing himself as the right man for the job, equipped with the experience, capacity, and vision required to lead the INC at this critical period.
He further highlighted that the core agitations of the Izon nation would form the cornerstone of his administration. These, he said, include the pursuit of true federalism, resource control, and the emancipation of the Izon people—objectives he plans to advance through strategic engagement and constructive dialogue.
The event at the IJAW House was characterized by strong solidarity from stakeholders and supporters, reflecting growing confidence in Elder T.K. Ogoriba’s leadership aspiration and his vision for a stronger, more united Ijaw National Congress.
