Increased Oil Production: Nigerian Government Reinstate Commitment to DoC
The federal government has reinstated it’s commitment towards the conformity of the Declaration of Cooperation (DoC) with the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries, (OPEC).
Speaking at the 56th Meeting of the Joint Ministerial Monitoring Committee (JMMC) of OPEC, Minister of State for Petroleum (OIL), Sen. Heineken Lokpobiri, made government’s position known.
He said “I joined my colleagues and we reviewed the conformity and compensation efforts of countries participating in the Declaration of Cooperation (DoC)”
Nigeria remains fully committed to the objectives of the DoC, and I can confidently confirm that our country is in conformity with the agreed production limits.
While we continue to ramp up production in line with our national interests, we are doing so within the framework of OPEC’s guidelines, as we remain committed to balancing responsible production with our economic goals, and continue to meet our obligations under the DoC.
