IWD: US Embassy and Fame Foundation commemorate
As part of activities to commemorate this year’s International Women’s Day The U.S. Embassy in collaboration with FAME Foundation will hold a football match.
According to a statement released by US Mission in Nigeria is to commemorate International Women’s Day with an event that will promote gender equality, address and foster inclusion of women in leadership roles and governance in sports.
It stated that the event will advocate against gender-based violence and facilitate increased participation of girls and women in sport.
The event is scheduled for Thursday March 5, 2020 at the Area 3 Artificial Turf, Garki Area 3, Abuja by 9am
It will be recalled that the International Women’s Day takes place on 8 March every year and this year’s campaign, #EachForEqual, draws attention to the difference individuals can make.
Western Europe currently has the highest gender parity rating at 76.7% and it sad to note that complete gender equality may not be achieved for another century.
