Legislator Advocates For Monthly Stipends For Elderly, Youth Groups in the Yenagoa

The Deputy Leader of the Sagbama Legislative Council and Councillor representing Ward 13, Rt Hon. Comr Paul Ebikeseiye has proposed a bill calling for monthly stipend to be paid to various community based groups in the Council area.

Rt. Hon. Ebikeseiye made the call in a motion during the 10th plenary session of the Sagbama Legislative Council.

According to the bill on the floor of the house, Hon. Ebikeseiye said it has become necessary for the council to pay monthly stipends to the Eldest Man and Woman in each Community in Sagbama LGA.

The legislator advocates for the monthly stipend for the category of groups to help them to effectively run their association.

He further proposed similar gesture for the Executive and Parliament of the apex Youth body of Sagbama LGA which is Salga Federated Youth Council worldwide.

The council lawmaker also outlined Community Youth Presidents in Sagbama LGA, members of Community Development Committee (CDC) and National Union of Salga Students (NUSS) Worldwide to receive monthly stipends in order to run their various association smoothly.

Speaking with reporters, he said the bill has gone through First reading which is official presentation of the bill document to the Leader of the House and Clark.
