
Mega Entrepreneurship Summit: Bayelsa Ready for Investments – Governor Diri
… as top Nigerian business players converge on Yenagoa
Bayelsa State Government says that the state is now better placed to receive massive investment opportunities because of the great business environment being created by the present administration.
Governor Douye Diri, represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Nimibofa Ayawei, stated this at a one-day Mega Entrepreneurship and Business Innovation Summit, at the D.S.P. Alamieyeseigha Memorial Banquet Hall, Yenagoa.
Governor Diri, who challenged business owners and entrepreneurs in the state to key into the various entrepreneurship and business innovation programmes of government, reiterated that the Government of Assured Prosperity was prepared to drive industrialisation in the state.
“This gathering tells you about our direction and commitment to boost local businesses and attract new investments to impact on our local economy. Our people must seize the opportunities being provided by government to grow their businesses. Our state is ready for massive investments. We are creating a conducive environment for business to thrive here. We are blessed with different natural and minerals resources.
We have invested in security and that is why Bayelsa is very peaceful. As a government, we are establishing sustainable power supply and constructing roads across the three senatorial districts to support business growth. We are inviting new businesses to come”, Gov. Diri said.
In his motivating speech, Dr. Cosmas Maduka, CEO of Coscharis Group, held the participants spellbound sharing insights on becoming an entrepreneurial giant.
He focused on the importance of vision, faith, planning, and focus, reminding the audience that “money doesn’t grow on trees” but rather comes from creating valuable connections in life.
Also, Chief Innocent Chukwuma, Chief Executive Officer of Innoson Groups, represented by Kamsi Ejiofor, Corporate Innovation Manager of Innoson Motors, stressed the importance of innovation and adaptability in today’s rapidly evolving business landscape.
Prominent Bayelsa businessman and CEO of Ayalla Groups, Chief Robert Ayalla Enogha, offered his visionary ideas on acquiring sustainable business success, emphasizing the importance of persistence and determination throughout his journey.
In her remarks, the convener of the programme, Mrs. Charity Kens Godwin, the Technical Adviser to the Governor on Entrepreneurship Development, expressed her deep appreciation for the turnout and the spirit of collaboration at the summit.
She appreciated Governor Diri for approving the Mega business summit to hold and acknowledged his support to business owners and for building capacity of Bayelsans through skills acquisition in the past 5 years.
Other notable speakers at the event includes HRM King Diete Spiff, King of Twon Brass, Prof. Omoankhalen Joseph Akhigbe, Professor of Management Entrepreneurship and Prof. Ify Harcourt Eokocha from the Department of Entrepreneurship and Marketing at the Federal University, Otueke.
