
Minister of State for Petroleum (Oil) Visits NCDMB Booth at African Energy Week
The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil), and Chairman of NCDMB’s Governing Council, Senator Heineken Lokpobiri on Tuesday visited the Board’s exhibition booth at the 2025 African Energy Week, holding at CTICC, Cape Town, South Africa.
He was received by the General Manager Corporate Communications, Dr. Obinna Ezeobi, who explained the key initiatives the Board is showcasing at the conference.
Other Board’s officials who were on hand to receive the Minister included the Director Finance and Personnel Management, Mr. Uchendu Ossaowa Andrew, Director, Nigerian Content Academy, Dr. Ama Ikuru, General Manager Monitoring and Evaluation, Mr. Silas Omomehin Ajimijaye, General Manager, Nigerian Content Development Fund (NCDF), Ms. Fateemah Mohammed, Manager Strategy, Olubisi Okunola, and Supervisor Events, Mrs. Oyiza Lambert.
The immediate past Executive Secretary of NCDMB, Engr. Simbi Kesiye Wabote visited the Board’s booth and exchanged pleasantries with Senator Lokpobiri.
The Minister had earlier delivered a keynote address on behalf of Nigeria at the formal opening ceremony. Thereafter he participated in a panel session with some Ministers from OPEC member states and the OPEC Secretary-General, HE Haitham AI Ghais.
Many other oil and gas stakeholders visited the Board’s booth and held discussions with Board’s personnel on various industry issues.
The African Energy Week 2025 continues on Wednesday. The Executive Secretary NCDMB, Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe is billed to deliver a keynote address at the event, titled “From Policy to Prosperity: Scaling Local Content for Africa’s Energy Future.”
Likewise, the Director Corporate Services, Dr. Abdulmalik Halilu will participate in a panel session, which will focus on “Driving local value and maximizing stakeholder returns.”
On Thursday, the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas) and Alternate Chairman of NCDMB’s Governing Council, Hon Ekperikpe Ekpo will deliver an address on Accelerating Natural Gas Development and Investment Opportunities in Nigeria.
